The most common question we get is a good one: "Do I even have hookups?" The good news is you can usually figure it out in about five minutes. Here's what to look for.
What "hookups" actually means
A washer and dryer need three things already in place. We connect to what's there — we don't add new plumbing, wiring, or venting.
1. Water supply and drain
Look for two valves (hot and cold) sticking out of the wall, usually in a laundry closet, garage, or basement. Nearby you'll see either a standpipe (a tall pipe the washer drains into) or a drain the hose can reach.
2. Power for the dryer
You'll need a large 240V outlet for the dryer — it looks different and bigger than a normal wall plug. We rent and install electric units only, so we don't lease or connect gas dryers.
3. A dryer vent
A vent to the outside so the dryer can exhaust. It's usually a round duct opening in the wall behind the dryer spot.
